One Jelly Knee Shakened, not Scrapped

I got scheduled for arthroscopic knee surgery today. Monday's xrays showed that my knee cap is fine so that's good. But as I learned from the first MRI, I've torn the outside and inside ligaments in my left knee. So that needs to be fixed. But what do I do? Wait or surgery?

The cortizone shot I had on Monday really helped the swelling and pain so I'm resting more easily. Even able to hobble around some. The doctor wants me to move around some to limber up my knee before surgery. It's gotten pretty stiff since I injured in last week of September. Uh, it's torn up, right? Is that such a good idea? We'll just take it slow with that request.

So surgery next week. Bleh! I'm amazed at how central having two sticks to rattle around on are. Right now, my sticks or legs as I should call them, feel rather jellified and shakened. How utterly useless I feel, being presently abnormal. Where's my table saw when I need one? I could take care of this in seconds! Double bleh!

Four blue dots make a box on my left knee where the surgeon showed me today that I'll have the incisions. Those incisions on the left knee will add to the other permanent marking I have on my left ankle, my skull heart tattoo from April of this year.

I'm not sure how long I'd have to wait to have this heal on its own if I don't do surgery. With having surgery, I do risk having some of my cartilage removed from the meniscus area of my knee which could lead to issues later. The cartilage surrounds the knee joints to keep every thing cushioned and working smoothly. Right now, in my left knee, I can feel some of my bone sliding against another part, like a squeaky wheel. Not a dazzling feeling really.

The doctor thinks I'm still young enough to have my knee heal fine with rehab after the surgery. Let's hope a replacement or knee arthritis isn't in my furture in 15 years.

I think I'll start coming up with a better story as to how I got injured. Falling while shopping isn't really that shocking enough. Maybe I feel backwards down a mountain while bungee jumping. That might work!
The attached photo is my leg (in a brace) between my two nephews late September while we watched a Dallas Cowboys game.
