Just when I thought I wouldn't be seeing or hearing much about Jon Bon Jovi and the band after their last album, Have a Nice Day (2005), it's back on.
This week (Tuesday) Jon was on American Idol mentoring the contestants. He and the band performed the first single ("You Want to Make a Memory") from their upcoming album, Lost Highway, out June 19th on the show last night (Wednesday). Tonight (Thursday) Jon will be on Larry King Live and Friday night they'll perform the single again on Larry King Live.

Now, rumor has it that they won't be touring for this new album, Lost Highway. But fans are hoping that they will be doing a Greatest Hits tour in the Fall. I keep checking the message boards to see what I can find out. Also on American Idol, Jon said that a new tour would be starting in January, 2008. This would go with the 25th anniversary of Slippery When Wet so that very well may happen!
It's just really exciting that the guys are making a super comeback from the 80s, but really as I've learned since getting back into their music this past year, and as Jon will quickly point out to you, they've never really left the scene. Jon knows how to write nice pop songs and melodies and Richie can add background vocals and guitar like a champ. The band is as strong as ever and if you get a chance to see them in concert, even if you aren't a fan, see them! You won't regret seeing a high energy performance they can deliver. And trust me, they deliver every song, every show, every time. (Yeah, you can tell I'm rather proud being a Bon Jovi fan again :)
